Recently I had the honour to lead a German delegation of scientists, practitioners and administrators of cultural education within the framework of a Chinese-German exchange forum. This forum, hosted by the ifa, the Stiftung Mercator and the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation was actually the third in a row, the first one being dedicated to concepts of arts & cultural education in China and Germany, the second one to issues of digitalization. This third forum discussed “Creativity and Innovative Capacities” with relation to arts & cultural education, and it was quite interesting to learn and discuss about the similarities and differences of the chinese vs. german approaches.
While there will be a report about this forum coming out in a few months (and time is as always too short to write a lenghty report at this place), I will just point to the one very interesting fact that tradition and heritage played a major role
