Internationalization of our Master Programme’s Profile in “Culture and Aesthetic Education”/Internationalisierung unseres Masterstudiengangsprofils “Kultur und ästhetische Bildung”/

The study profile “Culture and Aesthetic Education” in the Erlangen Master’s Programme in Pedagogy will be further developed in the coming winter semester. The focus is on internationalisation and UNESCO-related topics.

In 2017 we started the first international module seminar “UNESCO-related perspectives of arts and culture in education” with great success. Our students accept the offer of an English-language seminar very well and are fortunately quite well versed in scientific communication in English. The UNESCO seminar regularly attracts international students from other courses of study who enrich these courses with their background experience.

Due to this success, we felt encouraged to take the next step. Starting in the winter semester of 2019, the Master’s profile will now include two international modules in english – which sums up to four courses. It will also systematically focus on international, transcultural, postcolonial and transformative perspectives in aesthetic practices, arts, and the fields of cultural education. Within these perspectives, we also contribute latest outcomes from our research area “Education in a Post-Digital Culture”. Thus our Master profile offers an excellent preparation for the educational worlds of the future, within and outside the fields of cultural education!

The profile modules II, V and VIII now comprise the following contents:
  • Module II (in german)
    • Seminar “Anthropology and Aesthetic Education” (German)
    • Seminar “Culture and Education”
  • Module V (in english)
    • Seminar “UNESCO-related Perspectives on Aesthetic, Arts, and Cultural Education”
    • Seminar “International Research in Aesthetic, Arts, and Cultural Education”
  • Module VIII (in english)
    • Seminar “Transformative Arts in Education”
    • Seminar “Cultural Heritage & Identity in Education”

  • Modul II (deutsch)
    • Seminar “Anthropologie und ästhetische Bildung”
    • Seminar “Kultur und Erziehung”
  • Modul V (englisch)
    • Seminar “UNESCO-related Perspectives on Aesthetic, Arts, and Cultural Education”
    • Seminar “International Research in Aesthetic, Arts, and Cultural Education”
  • Modul VIII (englisch)
    • Seminar “Transformative Arts in Education”
    • Seminar “Cultural Heritage & Identity in Education”
